Our Mission

Building awareness of the issue of human trafficking and partnering with others to encourage compassion, respect, and dignity for all people in the community.

STOP seeks to fulfill this mission by: Educating; Networking; Connecting; Advocating; and Sharing Resources

Our History

Upon learning that our area is a “hotspot” for human trafficking due to major Interstates 81 and 70, hotels, truck stops, and proximity to major airports in DC and Baltimore, a small group of concerned citizens began meeting regularly in 2015 to learn more of how we could help fight this injustice in our community.

These initial, biweekly meetings allowed us to pray and become organized, eventually establishing a logo, mission and name for our group, as well as an email contact list, website and Facebook page.

Over a three year period, the group has grown and has developed relationships with other local organizations, churches, and government agencies. Currently, we hold public meetings the first Sunday of each month, alternating with a Prayer Focus and Awareness/Connection.
